New Green Wingrove Radio Show Launched
The two-hour show is the product of a public voting event earlier this year where local residents decided what community projects Greening Wingrove funding should support.
There will be regular video interviews with Arthur’s Hill, Spital Tongues, Wingrove and New Mills residents, filmed by media partner Studio44North, and there will be live studio guests talking each week on the show.
All episodes will be themed but there will be weekly event updates, growing tips and money-saving advice. The show will encourage local creativity by broadcasting locally-produced pre-recorded pieces and by covering some of the many events in the Greening Wingrove area. It is hoped most material will be put online as an archive for local residents.
One of the key objectives of the Green Show is to actively involve those living in the Greening Wingrove area and there is free training for residents interested in presenting on and producing for radio. The first training session will be at Stanton Street Lounge on Saturday 24 September, click HERE for more information. Places are limited and you should book in advance. Further sessions will be put on if there is demand however.
The show is about local people and organisers are keen to make sure anyone can be involved, even if their first language isn’t English. “We are keen to explore broadcasting in different languages, so if you have those skills then we would welcome doing part of the show in English and part in other languages”, says Greening Wingrove Organiser Abi Boston-Smith.
“We would like to invite you to come and take part. It could be a five minute chat about something of interest to yourself, or it could be much more in depth and we could build a whole show around your topics of interest”.
