Sidney Grove Spring Clean
This Arthur’s Hill street clean was originally scheduled to take place during the Great British Spring Clean weekend 2-4 March. However, the chilling ‘beast from the east’ put paid to those plans. Unusually, there was hardly a piece of litter in sight, with everything covered in a blanket of snow.
The street clean is now taking place Sunday 8 April, from 11am to 1pm. All are welcome to come and join this event, intended to bring people from all walks of life together in improving our neighbourhood.
Sidney Grove will be the target, and if you’re interested in helping out, you simply need to turn up at the bottom end of Sidney Grove opposite Nuns Moor Park, at 11am. If you’re a little late, simply find the ‘clean green team’ higher up the street. Children are especially welcome, but must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
All equipment will be provided, including gloves, litter pickers and a tunic. You’re advised to dress up warmly and wear some stout footwear. After the street has been given the spring clean treatment, the Arthur’s Hill Time Exchange will be serving hot soup and refreshments for those who’ve taken part. A great way to get to meet and chat with other local residents and find out what else is going on in the West End of the city.

The street clean has been organised by Greening Wingrove, with financial assistance from Karbon Homes.
