Free Bike Checks
It’s true. Every Wednesday at Nuns Moor Park, until the end of October, you can have your bike thoroughly checked over, for free!
The comprehensive check also includes minor repairs, like brake adjustment, which don’t require new parts. An equivalent service check from a bike repair shop would be likely to set you back a minimum of £20-£30.
The new service is a collaboration between Greening Wingrove CIC and Bike4Health, who have teamed up to help make cycling more affordable, more accessible and more attractive for local people.
Each Wednesday from 7am, a qualified Bike4Health mechanic will be located at the park’s Bike Garden. They will be there until 7pm, and people will be able to drop off their bike in the morning (say, before work) and collect it later in the day.
If repairs are needed, customers will be able to get an estimate from the mechanic for the work. Repairs which require new parts are unlikely to be completed on the day, as spares are not stored on site.
